I’m final year PhD student in Chemistry in the School of Molecular Sciences at ASU and originally from Kolkata, India. I was intrigued by the versatility of organic chemistry when I was in high school and continued my career in chemistry. Further during the PhD I took a challenge to engineer solutions related to human health by leveraging my technical and scientific skills. I am a motivated, fun-loving travel enthusiast, passionate to mentor students from different background and discuss science happening around us. I loved to play with my little 1-year old tortoise “Guddu”.

I’m a synthetic biologist which means I study the way Nature has solved problems with biology and I try to apply those lessons to problems we face in a new way. My work has mostly been spent trying to build DNA engineering tools for other scientists to use to cure diseases like cancer or autoimmune disease.
